*_MLA Khansahib meets Governor_* Srinagar, August 6 : Hakim Mohd. Yaseen, MLA Khansahib, called on Governor N.N. Vohra, at the Raj Bhavan today. Sh. Yaseen informed Governor about the varied concerns and difficulties of people in his constituency and particularly referred to the poor maintenance of roads and issues relating to inadequacy of teachers in schools. He welcomed Governor’s decision to conduct the very long pending polls to the Municipalities and, and later, to the Panchayats. Sh. Yaseen asserted that the functioning of elected bodies in the villages and towns shall strengthen the democratic framework and, besides enable the urban and rural people to decide their developmental priorities and be also responsible for implementing development works and programmes which promote their welfare. Governor urged the Legislator to spread awareness about the high importance of the forthcoming elections to Municipalities and Panchayats and hoped that many educated young men shall come

Article 35-A Update: The PIL filed by Charau Wali Khanna challenging Article 35-A of the Constitution and Section 6 of the J&K Constitution which deal with the permanent residents of the state is up for hearing today by a five judge constitution bench. It has been tagged for hearing today by Justice Dipak Mishra and A M Khanwilkar. It is my hope that the hearing at 2PM in the Supreme Court today takes historical realities of Kashmir into Account and arrives at a decision which is in concurrence with potential peace, tranquillity and law and order of our state. Any infringement into 35-A is a direct challenge to Instrument of Accession and the relationship between Kashmir and India

Man Killed in Gool, another injured :  Police lodge FIR against Army : Sachnews Jammu Kashmir Nawaz Rounyal : Ramban, August 05 : A man was killed and another injured in mysterious circumstances in Kohli area of Gool in Ramban district early morning today. Army has told the police that they came under fire at 3:45 am today, following which they opened fire, resulting into death of one person and injuries to another. However, Reports quoting locals said that they heard gunshots at 11 pm last night. The deceased has been  identified as Muhammad Shafi Gujjar. and the injured as Shakeel Ahmad. He id being treated in district hospital Ramban . Both the persons, according to locals, were engaged in cattle trade. SSP Ramban Mohan Lal stold Sachnews Jammu Kashmir that an FIR has been registered against 58 RR of the army at Dharamkund police station. He said that  investigation in the matter is on.
